The Byrdwell-Dixon Award
Beginning in the spring of 2028, a graduating high school senior in Kentucky will be granted the Byrdwell-Dixon Award. This is a $10,000 grant for a graduating high school senior who plans to enter into a career of professional musicianship from high school or after college.
The Byrdwell-Dixon Award is named after two tirelessly dedicated band directors from Shelby County, Kentucky, Ken Byrdwell and William Dixon. Both of these gentlemen helped shape countless young people for decades as music educators in Central Kentucky.
The Byrdwell-Dixon Award is funded by donations to Noise for HOPE. Noise for HOPE conducts active fundraisers both in person and online. A portion of our donations goes directly to the fund that supports the grant.
Submission details will be announced in the fall of 2027.
